What Is Liposuction?
Liposuction (also commonly known as lipo) is a procedure where fatty tissue is removed from the body via suction. It is used to remove stubborn areas of fat build up that have been resistant to diet and exercise regimens. However, it is NOT used as a replacement for proper diet and exercise, nor is it a treatment for obesity. In addition; liposuction is also not a treatment to rid locations of the body of cellulite. It's primary purpose is for body shaping and contouring. The best candidates are women and men within 10 to 20 pounds of their target weight.
Who is a Good Candidate for Lipo?
Individuals with both positive mental and physical health outlook and have stubborn areas of fat that won't go away with typical exercise. Individuals that are done with childbirth. An individual who is actively trying to lose wight, and over the age of 18.
Where Can I Have Liposuction?
For the most part that is an easy question. If there is extra fatty tissue anywhere you don’t want it, we can get rid of it for you. With that said; there are some locations, such as near the eyes, that we will not consider. But in general, there are no restrictions on where the procedure can be performed. Recovery Time Associated With Liposuction?
Most body procedures are followed by swelling and bruising and this is considered normal. After the procedure your doctor may also suggest a compression garment or other type of elastic-bandage to help control swelling of the treated location. Recovery time varies: from person to person, based on treatment location. Your physician will be able to give you a more targeted timeline for dissipation of swelling & full recovery.
Liposuction Side Effects
The side effects of Lipo are actually not very bad. Dr. Sturm really cares about his clients, and wants them to be proud of there body; and minimize and side effects as much as possible. How much does Liposuction Cost?
When it comes to cost, a lot of medical spas will be very transparent with there pricing. Part of that reason is that every person has a different situation; and those situations do determine the price. With that said, lipo costs start out at around $5,000 per area. If someone is advertising at a lower price; it's because they are either: making it up, talking about multiple areas and not the initial area, or they will speed through your procedure and end up looking bad. We will offer discounts to more than one areas of liposuction, so its smart to get multiple areas if that's your overall plan. Liposuction Scars and Risks
Liposuction scars are only 1-2mm wide, so only about the size of a zit. With that said, Dr. Sturm will hid those scars so that no one will notice. The Liposuction risks are minimal; they are: bruising, change in skin sensation, swelling, loose skin (we will use Body FX to make sure theres very minimal loose skin). Is It Permanent?
Once fat is removed from the body it will not come back on it’s own. Liposuction does not however prevent you from gaining weight back due to lack of exercise and poor diet, so a healthy lifestyle is encouraged.
Down Time is only 2-3 Days.
